The QUCAN Partnership

With David Brown (Cornell) and Mark Shucksmith (then at Aberdeen) I was one of the founders of the the QUCAN transatlantic rural research partnership with Cornell, Penn State, Queens Belfast, UHI, Aberdeen, and Newcastle Universities. This has focused on mentoring PhD students from the partners and encouraging joint research and related activities. It has resulted in several publications including a forthcoming book on rural development and policy in the UK and US, to be published later this year by Routledge, New York. It does not have its own website, but can be tracked down through the Polson Institute at Cornell University.
